Automation Task Not Found
If you've installed a workflow which contains Automation Tasks, and it isn't working as expected, you should first check the Debugger output.
If the debugger shows the message "[Automation Task] Task not found", it indicates that you need to install or update Automation Tasks.
You'll also see a red "Task Missing" object, highlighted in an orange box on the workflow canvas:
Installing or Updating Automation Tasks
To install or update Automation Tasks on your Mac, open Alfred's preferences to the Workflows tab and click "Alfred Gallery" at the bottom of the left sidebar.
Choose "Automation Task Options..." to view your current Automation Tasks settings.
If your tasks are not installed or out of date, you'll see an "Install Tasks" or "Update Tasks" button, which you can click to get the latest update.
We recommend checking the box to "Automatically keep Automation Tasks up to date", as this ensures the most current set of tasks are downloaded for you in the background.
Understanding Automation Task colours
The Automation Task object in the Workflow Editor can be one of four colours:
- Grey: No task set
- Turquoise green: Task set and ready to use
- Orange: Task needs to be configured; Open the object configuration and fill in the details needed
- Red: Task missing; Follow the update procedure
