How can I reset Alfred to defaults?
If you've encountered some issues and your preferences have become corrupted, you may need to reset Alfred's settings to defaults.
To do this, quit Alfred first, then delete the following files/folders from your user directory.
Resetting Alfred to defaults in Alfred 4 & 5
To reset Alfred, first quit Alfred. Navigate to your user directory's Library folder, and delete the following files. This will reset Alfred to defaults. You can then relaunch Alfred and start with fresh preferences.
~/Library/Application Support/Alfred
~/Library/Preferences/com.runningwithcrayons.Alfred-Preferences.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.alfredapp.Alfred.plist
~/Library/Caches/com.runningwithcrayons.Alfred
When relaunching Alfred, you will need to set your hotkey and locale again, and your preferences will be back to Alfred's defaults.
If you are using Alfred's syncing feature, you'll find these files in your sync folder (e.g. within Dropbox)
Resetting in Alfred 3
The files you'll need to delete for Alfred 3 are slightly different, so quit Alfred, navigate to the following paths and delete the files. Restart Alfred and start with fresh preferences.
~/Library/Preferences/com.runningwithcrayons.Alfred-3.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.runningwithcrayons.Alfred-Preferences-3.plist
~/Library/Caches/com.runningwithcrayons.Alfred-3
~/Library/Application Support/Alfred 3
When relaunching Alfred, you will need to set your hotkey and locale again, and your preferences will be back to Alfred's defaults.
